Wildfox Resorts Group has appointed Powell Dobson Architects as part of the Afan Valley resort delivery team.
Working from their Cardiff Studio, Powell Dobson Architects will be responsible for the resort masterplan, and detailed designs for each of the key activity buildings and the wider resort accommodation.
The Powell Dobson team is being led by Managing Partner, Ann-Marie Smale, and Design Director Mike Thomas, supported by Dave Rossington as Project Architect.
The team is part of Wales’ largest independent architectural practice with over 75 staff dedicated to the design and delivery of outstanding buildings and places that are an inspiration and joy to live and work in. Powell Dobson aims to design buildings that are an inspiration to their users, provide a strong identity whilst responding to their context, and that fully embrace their commitment to sustainable design of their local and national environment.
Managing Partner, Ann-Marie Smale on their appointment to the project commented: “We are so excited to have the opportunity of being involved in what, undoubtedly, could be one of the biggest regeneration projects in Wales. The architecture of the new adventure resort at Afan Valley will be driven by the site’s topography, landscape and wider context, creating a destination that, through form and materials, will belong to its beautiful, valley setting.”
